I have a 4 yr old from a previous relationship. We were never married. He was in and out of both of our lives for the first 2 yrs of my sons life and using illegal drugs i came to find out. Once i left him a met someone else who treated me and my son both like gold and ended up getting married. He has been his father figure for the past 2 1/2 yrs. His biological fathers has been arrested for DUI within the year and also his girlfriend found him in a crack house about 5 months ago. I have been trying to serve him papers for a year and keeps moving and or the person who answers the door refuses. We are supposed to go to court on Friday but not really sure if he will show. By the way the last payment i recieved from him was $5 two years ago. What are my options and how can we go about adoption?

An intrafamily adoption is not complicated but you need someone who does adoptions to make sure the bio-dad's rights are terminated. You will have to have a curator appointed to find the bio-dad. Call me if you would like to discuss this.
