Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

My daughter has lost custody of her daughter and I have been trying to help her get custody back. The judges in Arcadia, Louisiana who have jurisdiction have stated that by joining the military, my daughter essentially abandoned her child and this is not true. How do you fight these judges and get justice? My daughter is a member of the Air Force and I never thought that a military person of good standing would ever be treated this way.

You can bring the issue back to the Judge. If he doesn't change his ruling, you can take an appeal. I have never heard of such a thing as serving one's country eqating to abandonment. That is a ludicrous statement and it the Judge said that, you should get a transcript of it.

Personally, I would also talk to some of the local media. I bet they would like to ask that Judge why he thinks so lowly of our armed servicemen and servicewomen.
