Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

My ex and I disagree on this issue and I truly hope someone can help. She will be getting married for the first time to another man and says that if his ideas of how to discipline our child differs from mine, she will go with his way and not mine thereby leaving me out of the right to discipline our son. She also feels that just by him marrying her, he automatically becomes our son's step father even though biologically and legally I am still his father. Does he have the right to discipline our son in ways I may feel are not right or does he have to have some legal custody of him before he can say what sort of discipline will be given to our son? Does marriage to the son's mother automatically give him these rights or would I have to give them to him legally before he has those rights?

He has no rights regarding your child. He does however have the mother, who might choose to defer to him. I suggest you consult with an experienced lawyer in the proper jurisdiction ASAP.
