Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

divorce

My exwife and I divorced three years

ago she lives in the house we had

together that is mortgaged in both our

names she also has a car that is in my

name can I force her to get them out

of my name ? the house has about 40K

of equity am I entitled to any of it ?

You would be well advised to get your name off of assets she holds. If you paid for part of the house, either directly or because of the community property regime, then you do have an interest in that property. The question is are you willing to shake up your relationship wiht her to try to get her to buy you out. This is all assuming you didn't deal with all these assets when you got divorced.
