divorce laws

if i gave the community owned home to my spouse and now the bank is foreclosing on it 3 years later for non payment, am i still repsonsible for the debt?

Yes unless the bank agreed to remove your name from the Promissory Note and Mortgage. It isn't the bank's fault that you surrendered property to your ex and it isn't their fault that she didn't pay the note.

Your agreement with your spouse does not alter your contract with the Bank. Yes you would be responsible for the debt but if your community property agreement was drafted correctly you should have recourse against your wife.
