Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

divorce property

my father is getting a divorce after

3yrs of marriage. this is his second

marriage. the original house was

purchased 20 years before this

marriage and was on his property.

that house was destroyed by fire 8

months after they were married. the

home they have now was purchased

with insurance money from the

previous home and is located on his

property. his wife had only worked

part-time for 6 months after they

were married, then the house

burned down and she has not

worked since. she came into the

marriage with no assets, no vehicle,

no money, nothing. the divorce is

the result of my father not wanting

to change his will and leave her

everything after only 3 yrs of

marriage! who should get what?
