Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana
Divorce Question... I went into a divorce settlement without representation. My wife was represented. Many of the things that were agreed to verbally (with the lawyer present) did not make it into the paperwork that I signed! I recognize that it is my fault for "assuming" and not reading the paperwork before signing, but the question is.... Now that I have signed it, is there anything I can do about the discrepancies? Also, it is worded very vaguely, leaving "loopholes" if-you-will that keeps allowing her to "come back for more"!! She has EVERYTHING!! The house paid for, the land paid for, a hefty child support and alimony, ALL of the material possessions, etc! I ended up losing a boat, a Harley, and a truck to repossesion because she SAID she was paying it while I was at work for a few months! I have NOTHING left but my 401K, which she VERBALLY agreed not to touch!! I had to take money out to buy a second-hand truck to go to and from work, and NOW she is saying she wants half!!! Upon inspecting the paperwork, there is NO mention of the 401K at all!! Do i have any legal recourse????

You need to return to court with an attorney and amend the judgment to include all agreements.
