Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana
I am getting divorced, and my husband has an LLC that is in his name only. He has co-signed for a commercial building through his LLC name. Is this building community property since it's not under my name?

Everything purchased or amassed during the marriage is community in Louisiana. Of course, if the llc is separate property then it would remain so. No matter whose name something is in, if it established during the community-it is community. You would have to agree in writing that something acquired after marriage would be his separate property. This document would then be filed into the mortgage and conveyance office.
