Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

I am the domicilliary parent for our kids. I have no emotional support here and would like to move out of state to be near family that can help me with my children. What are the laws regarding if I can move out of state with the kids. My ex claims he has to "approve" it first and if he doesn't, then I can't leave.

A very basic answer is that he must approve the move or you have to take him to court and show the court that it is in the children's best interest that they move away from their dad, their friends, their schools, and start their entire lives over in a strange place among strangers.
