Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

Evaluation

My husband went for custody of his daughter. After he and the mother completed a custody evaluation the evaluation was in my husbands favor. A hearing officer upheld the evaluation and transferred custody to my husband. Needless to say the mother is dragging us to trial. Her lawyer now wants my husband to be reevaluated by someone of his choosing. How is this fair as the lawyer is very shady and we are afraid that he may have one of his cronies do the eval. Does my husband have to do this, and if so how can he protect himself from anything shady?

Re: Evaluation

You should take this matter up with his attorney if he has one. If he does not have an attorney, he should get one.

I would think the other attorney would need to get court approval for another evaluation.
