Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

My ex-girlfriend is having our son soon. She wants to put him up for adoption, but I feel like I could raise him myself and would rather not put him through the system. She has told me her lawyer informed her that if I did not sign the papers, that a judge could force me to, essentially taking the decision out of my hands all-together. Is this true?

Get your own lawyer. Over 30 years I have heard more people get incorrect "legal advice" from an ex claiming it was the ex's lawyer's statement. Both parents have a right to child custody If you get that custody then she should pay you child support.
