Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

My ex-husband has refused to refinance the house we bought together before we were married. He had until February of this year to do so and consequently is now in contempt of court. Because it has been so long and he has yet to take my name off the house, can I ask for rent for the past 4 months at our mediation? (This is a co-ownership not community property because it was purchased before we were married.)

The heck with rent.....if you had not been ordered into mediation, I would have suggested that you rule him into court to show cause why he should not be found in contempt of court, punished accordingly, ordered to pay your attorney and all court costs, and to also pay rent for the past 4 months. Ask the mediator for the same thing.
