Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

My ex-husband and I share joint custody of our 17 year old son. My ex-husband has physical custody however my son has lived with me for the past 2 years. My ex-husband refuses to change the custody agreement, what can I do? Can my ex-husband force my son to come live with him at this point? What age can my son decide which parents he wants to live with?

Why change anything? He cannot force your son to live with him. At 17 he is an adult for CRIMINAL purposes, but not CIVIL purposes. A 17 year old has all the say.
