Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

My ex-live-in girlfriend with whom I have 3 kids with, moved 100 miles away in another parish with my kids.I'm considering filing for shared custody on the basis that they were born in my parish and lived in my home as well.I was told that there was a case where the judge ordered the mother to move back closer so that the father could have shared custody. Is there any truth to this or could you recommend another action to take.

The judge will determine custody issues based upon the "best interest of the child". Every case is different. Consult an attorney and discuss all the possibilities with that lawyer.

She will not be asked to move back since you never tried to legally exercise your rights. Had you had such a legal Judgment, she could not have moved away without your permission.
