Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana
My ex-wife took out a credit card before we met. When we got married, my name was added to the account. When we got divorced, we were told that the account could not be changed from a joint account - it could only be canceled once it was paid off. It did not get paid off. A court order was put out for both my ex and me to recover the money. I ended up having my wages garnished for 100% of the amount/court fees. Do I have legal recourse for getting half of that amount from my ex?
