After he files for a determination of paternity and he is proven to be the father, he will be required to pay child support and may be granted some limited visitation until the child gets to know him. At some point he could file for full custody or domiciliary status, but as Ms. Lucas says, the Court will decide best interest.......and that may be that the child stays with the grandparents and your fiance' have visitation rights.
