Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

My Fiancee's Debts

I live in Louisiana. I am engaged to a man who has some bad debt...owes some money but is not/has not paid it. If we get married, am I responsible for that debt/will they be able to garnish my wages for that debt? (I believe there is a bank, a couple cell phone companies and a utility company.) We'll have no need to pursue credit after marriage, so I'm not concerned about his credit history in that regard.

Re: My Fiancee's Debts

First advice, do not marry him until he pays his debts in full. Second advice, do a pre-nuptual. Once you are married, your income becomes 1/2 his, and therefore subject to seizure.
