How long can a file be open in a lawyers office. Before it has to be court documented. And after 7 years can it still be filed in a court. And i,m talking about a adoption

I do not fully understand what you are asking. There is no "time" period that a file can be opened in a lawyer's office. If you are saying an adoption was done but never taken to court, then if it has been pending for 7 years, it is unenforceable. You have to start all over. If the lawyer messed this one up, you need to contact the bar association.
