Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana
Financial Question
My divorce was final in Dec '08. My ex is now stating that I owe him a bunch of money and wants to go back to court. First he claims I owe him the money back that he paid as ''child support'' for 6 months before an actual support order was done. Then he claims I owe him for repairs done on the house that was sold, plus he wants $25 per hour for his labor (he is not a contractor). He claims he does not owe me for the credit cards we had while married that I paid off, nor does he owe me for a $5,000 loan I had to take out when he left, and before I actually filed for divorce. The only thing I can see owing him is half the repairs on the house and half the remainder of the mortgage left on the house (it sold at short sale), which actually is owed to the mortgage company and not him as he isn't making any payments on the debt right now anyway. Can he request all the money he is claiming and not owe me anything in return for what I paid?

Re: Financial Question
Talk to a lawyer. I assure you that the community propert is more balanced than your ex-husband's opinion.
