Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

Is there a way to find out how much income someone has and where they may have kept the income during the marriage, so a former spouse can file suit after the divorce, saying that amount wasn't revealed as community property? Also, what is awarded to the filing spouse who files and wins the motion for contempt for her former husband's refusal to communicate?

A private investigator can often get this type of information. You may be able to subpoena financial records also. If a person is found in contempt, he will have to pay the offended party's attorney's fees and court costs, possible court fines, etc. It will depend on the circumstances.
