do I have to force my son to go on visitation with his father?

If the Court ordered visitation, you should do whatever you can to see that the Order is complied with. If you are found to have been impeding the visitation, you could be held in contempt of court and put in jail.
If your son absolultely does not want to visit his father, you can petition the Court to modify its Order. You can't just make that decision yourself and neither can the minor child.
