Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

I have a friend who has a child with a woman he's not married to. She threatens to take his child and move out of state if he doesn't stay in a relationship with her so he stays in fear of her taking his baby. How can he help himself?

Hire a lawyer and file for custody. Unless he is unfit he should get no less than scheduled visitation.
