Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

My future husband owes back child support and his Federal tax refund goes toward paying this off, Will I be responsible after married for the support payment and will my refund go toward this also. I live in Louisiana and child support is paid to New Mexico.

Call the IRS and ask them.......better than that, call the local child support office and ask them. Since 1/2 or your income is your husband's, it would seem that after you are married 1/2 of your wages, and refund, would be his, and therefore the children's. WOW, if he did not support his children, what makes you think he will support you? Just an editorial comment that I would ask any paying client.
