Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

my godsons mother is wanting to sign over custody to us because she cant take care of him. can we gett his done in a lawyers office with a notary since it is voluntary? or do we have to go to courthouse?

You can have a provisional custody document done by a lawyer but full custody will have to be through court.
