Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

Grandchild rights

My grandmother has lived with my aunt for the last 20 or so yrs. My aunt has cut off contact from my mother. My aunt says my mom cannot see my grandmother anymore. I have been taking my grandmother for the last 8 yrs shopping every two weeks. or what ever she wants . I went by on my grandmother's b-day to see how she was doing and my aunt had neglected to wash my grandmother's feet and they were grouse and her socks were stuck to my grandmother feet. She also had said that it had been a couple of days since she had got a bath. So I made the difficult decision to call Social services and report her for neglect. Hopeing to get her the help she needed since she will not let my sister, mother, or I to help. The next day I received a letter in the mail. That my aunt said I was not allowed to see or talk to my grandmother ever again. I love my grandmother with all of my heart. I don't want anything but to see and visit with my grandmother when ever I can. Please I need all the advice I can get.

Why would you call someone else to help your grandmother rather than doing it yourself? Why didn't you sue the court for custody of your grandmother or at the minimum, visitation? I am from the old school where relatives took care of relatives without the government getting involved. If you love her with all your heart, figure out a way to take her into your home and care for her the way you believe she deserves to be cared for. I admire you for what you are about to do, and wish you the best of luck.
