Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana
How can grandmother get guardianship.
My grandmother has had me since 2004. My mother dies that year and my father has been in jail since i was 3months. So how can my grandmother get guardianship quickly without all this notary, get it signed, pay fee, mail, pay again, mail back stuff. Plus we have been goin through all these legal motions since last summer. I just want to know if i can use any school resords or anything of that nature to substitute the legal court signed guardianship papers. I am 16 and my grandmother is 68.

I've never heard of the process you're discussing. Child custody orders must be signed by a judge. Considering the circumstances a lawyer could get this completed within a couple of months of being hired. It can't be quicker because there must be a hearing.

She should adopt you. That would be the most permanent. Either way a Judge will have to hear the case. In an adoption, once it is filed as an Intrafamily adoption, the hearing must be held within 60 days.
