Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

Guardianship

My 14 year old daughter wants to come and live with me and go to school. Her dad has agreed to it but, my husband said that we need something in writing so he can't just get a hair up his butt and say that he wants her back and take her out of school. is that true? Do we need something in writing?
