Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

My husband and I were fosterparents with two fosterchildren that we chose not to adopt as my husband was having some surgeries. However, we were told by social services that it was in the best interest of the children that we remain in their lives. Their new "parents" who are adopting them refuse for us to see them as they are trying hard to erase us from the children's memories (they only have had them 3 months). We had the children two and half years and gave them a great life. Can we freeze the adoption and fight for custody ourselves or is it too late? It has not been finalized. Or take social services to court? We feel we were lied to, done wrong and just used. No one seems to care that we love the children and they love us. Do we have ANY rights?

The rights you have as foster parents exist only as long as you are foster parents. The courts want input from the care-givers of the children. There may be CASA volunteers involved and if so, you can contact them to register your conserns. An attorney should have been appointed to represent the children. You can express your concern to the attorney. If the children are old enough, they can also make their wishes known.
