Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana
my husband left on temporary military duty to north carolina. I thought he was working for over 8 months however, his orders fell through and he moved in with his mistress who is active duty soldier. He used her address to transfer his duty station from louisiana to north carolina and he used her address as address on divorce paperwork, which i didnt sign and didnt understand how to contest. he left me with no money for extra expenses so couldnt afford a lawyer. anyhow the residence is the mistresses not his. he has no proof of paying any bills there he is just a house guest if she wanted him to be kicked out she would have no problem. But for purposes of divorce and taxes and military duty he claims north carolina citizenship and may even have north carolina drivers license. it is not clear whether he is considered resident of north carolina now or louisiana still. He owes louisiana state taxes with me bc when we were married he was false about his finances while supposedly on military duty so i filed according to what he gave me. In any case. He divorced me from North Carolina and we were married in Louisiana.

The military takes care of its own and their spouses. You should have gone to the nearest JAG office and told them your situation. You still should. The military is very hard on soldiers who do not support their children and spouse.
