My personal opinion as a lawyer with 39 years experience, with many of those years in Juvenile court, is DO NOT DO IT! He is offering her FREEDOM TO DO WHATEVER SHE WANTS, after not being in her life. You will not be giving up any LEGAL rights, but there is a reason you have custody and not him or the child's mother. The proposition is a recipe for disaster. She will be really angry is you do not let her, but she will regret it 20 years from now. Best interest of the child controls........be honest, what is in this child's best interest? I am assuming that this is your son's child because I know you would never let her live with her mom. If I am wrong then I am sorry, but if he is NOT your son, DO NOT DO IT!
