Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

I would like some information on louisiana laws on Divorce Degrees when there are child ....I have a friend that is post to get his kids on weekends and some holidays...for xmas his x wife did not call or show up with the kids..and when he calls the shelf department they tell him that theres nothing they can do except make a report on it...to my understand and divorce degree is a court order and if theres visten rights for the spouse to get his kids on the weekends .holidays that its a court order and the mother is to give up the kids on the father weekend and if the mother does not give up the kids on that time then the police/shelf department is post to honor that court order and go out where the kids and read the mothers rights...please let me know ....

The sheriff is supposed to enforce the Court's Judgment, but they do not always do so. You should file a motion for contempt with the Court and thereby inform the Court that the ex is not abiding by the Court's order. The Court can hold the person in contemp and can even put them in jail if they refuse to follow the Court's Orders and Judgments.
