Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

Inheritance

Can mother put adult children out of the family's house, after father's death and move her boyfriend in? After our father's death, we had to sign papers with a broker in allow our mother to receive a monthly check, can we stop this?

Re: Inheritance

We need a whole lot more information before we can tell you anything about a monthly check. Assuming the house is community, your mom owns 1/2 as her part of the community, and the usufruct, use, of the other 1/2. You and the siblings are the naked owners of the 1/2 your dad owned, which means you have no rights over the use of it, but cannot be forced to sell your naked ownership. I don't know the ages of the "adult" children, but it may be time to leave the nest. Obviously mom wants you to. If the succession is in Calcasieu Parish, I could take a look at the record if you gave me the Succession number.
