Judge & lawyer unethical?

Child custody case-judge dismissed case in chambers per verbal order in 2007--what is the ''legality of this & how binding is this? Lawyer for plaintiff has done nothing for over a year now regarding this dismissal--is his ''non-action'' ethical/unethical? What can I do about this? I have written the judiciary commission and they say they can to nothing and I have written the attorney disciplinary board and they say the attorney has not acted in the realm of ''misconduct''--what else can I do to facilitate either the ''dismissal'' being upheld or seeing to it that the lawyer proceeds with the final disposition of the case?
