Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

In my judgement of divorce, a section says "it is further ordered, adjudged and decreed that the community of acquets and gains existing between the parties be and hereby is terminated retroactively to the date the original petition was filed"? In layman's terms, what does this mean?

It means that anything you, or your ex, does financially after the date the divorce petition was filed has no effect on community property.
