Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

lawyer trouble?

I have paid my lawyer over 1500.00

to handle my divorce - I cant get him

to return a call; he didnt file

objections regarding not being

allowed to move out of parish

following our hearing officer

appointment and I asked him to; I

have explained that due to a job offer

I would like to move out of state

where I have family; a secure job; a

secure place to live etc etc and he

has done nothing!!! In june my

lease is up and I need to vacate -

section 8 list has a wating list of 1-

1/2 years and to top it off my soon to

be ex husband has been laid off and I

have collected a big 150.00 dollars of

the 213.00 court ordered child

support that he was ordered to pay

retro 2/6 - What can I do ? Should I

call the governor or the senator

Re: lawyer trouble?

You should call your lawyer one more time. If that fails you should call the Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC) in Baton Rouge.

The Governor & Senator(s) have no authority over the practice of law. The State Supreme Court does and the ODC does their investigations.
