Re: Leaving Home

Dear Rebecca,

It's true. You are no longer a juvenile, so the juvenile authorities have no jurisdiction over you; even though you are not an adult until you reach eighteen. Even though you are leaving your parents, be kind to them and stay in touch with them. Also, remember what I always told my sons as they were growing up: the most important thing in life is God and your relationship to Him. Fail in that and you have failed in all. Also, as Ralph W. Emerson and Thomas Wolfe have said (Emerson in "Compensation" and Wolfe in YOU CAN'T GO HOME AGAIN), pick out what you want in life, pay the price and take it. If I can ever be of help to you in any way, feel free to contact me. Best of luck!

Sincerely,

Hardy Parkerson, Atty.
