I married in 1986 and just found out I was not divorced from my previous wife until 1992. Am I married ???

If you and your current wife (or just one of you) believed you were each free to marry in 1986, and you had a license and the proper official who performed the ceremony, then you have a putative marriage and you are married until judicially terminated. See civil code article 96.
