Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

I am licensed in NC and have been for the past two years but right now I am working out of LA and I have been for about 3 months now. My wife lives in VA and I want to file for my divorce but I don't know where to file? And can it be filed without me having to travel back to VA?

I assume by licensed you mean driver's license. It is your intent that is important in Louisiana. If you intend to make LA your home permanently, then that is what determines if you can file here. However, 1 bit of evidence of intent is whether you have gotten a LA driver's license and whether you have plated your vehicle with LA license plates. You should have done that by now if you intend LA to be you permanent domicile. BTW, you have to pay taxes on your vehicle when you plate it with LA plates. I doubt if a court would believe you intended LA as your permanent home if you have not changed what I mentioned above.
