Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

Life Insuance Policy

When my ex husband and his ex divorced, she had her atty put that all of the minor children shall be beneficiaries on all policies on my husband. All of the children are over the age of 18 now, are they still to be beneficiaries on all policies or does that mean only while they are minors

Re: Life Insuance Policy

I do not think I have been asked this question before. The wording of the Judgment is what is important. If the wording is such that it is obvious that the insurance coverage meant only during minority, then that is how it should be interpreted. To be safe, I suggest you take the matter back to court for clarification by the Judge. I would assume that the policies spoken of in the Judgment were only those in existance at the time of the Judgment and not to any future policies. But again, the wording is what is important. You should speak with an attorney in your area, or send the Judgment to one on this site and let them give a more informed opinion.
