In louisiana, is there a way to contest an ex spouse filing for pauper status if the divorce is final but there's a minor child/custody issue ongoing?

Pauper status is granted by the court after reviewing a notarized affidavit detailing income and expenses. It doesn't mean you are a pauper only that it would be a hardship for the party to advance court costs and pay as they accrue. Some courts will order payments of these costs later if the court finds that the party(ies) can then pay.
