In louisiana how long does a couple need to be married to be able to claim retiement benefits from the other spouse before divorcing?

There is no statute defining this but the retirement policy of the company should be reviewed. If you are asking about a court award of retirement benefits in a divorce- the court usually awards a pro rata share calculating time married into award.
