Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana
I have been married for less than 2 years. I (we) bought a house since we have been married, but i have paid all the bills, all the notes and all the cost of remodeling on the property. I would be able to prove that he hasn't paid any of the expenses. I want out, what am i up against? Is he due half the proceeds if the house sales, can he stop the sale since the house is in both our names. If he is due half the proceeds, can i get my money back first

There is no such thing as "your money" when you are married. "You" didn't pay the notes and bills, you both did. Half of everything you earn when you are married BELONGS to your spouse. Half of what he makes also BELONGS to you. Anything either of you buys (cars, homes, candlesticks, toilet paper) belongs to each of you 50-50, regardless of who paid for it, whose name is on the title, whatever. The house is just as much his as yours and you can't get "your" money back first.
