Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

i have been married for over six years and have an eleven year old son who lives with his mother(not my wife). i've been paying child support since the month after i got married. i haven't seen my son since my wedding day because his mother threatens to call police if i ever came in contact with our son. i have never harmed my son, and i don't have a court order to stay away but i do so to keep down confusion. please help! i want to be in my son life. i don't know where to start.

The first thing is to get a family law attorney. The attorney will file joint custody and/or visitation petition so you can have the judge order the same. Document all contact and attepts to contact and keep copies of all payments. Make all necessary efforts to let your child know you are preparing for and ready to make the child feel they have a home with you.
