Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana
I'm in the military and my wife and i are adopting a child. The child is my wife's nephew and the judge is going to place the child with us. My wife's sister called us and said that one of the social worker's who is handling the whole adoption said that if the child is placed with us that she will sue. my question is what grounds can t he social worker have to sue? we've done our homestudy and was approved. we're stationed in alabama and the child is in louisianna, but we've done everything that we've been asked to do and the decision was made by the placemnt agency in louisianna. So how can i get sue'd by a social worker?

The social worker if working for child protection has a duty to try to reunite the family first. They can only inform the court what the State is working towards in the staffing of the child. It is always up to the court. If this is a private social worker, there is no standing to sue.
