Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

My mother wants my 17 yr old sister to come live with me. My sister is in agreement with this. We all live in Louisiana just in different parishes. My parish says i must have custody of my sister for her to attend school. Is this true or can my sister make decisions for herself at 17?

Talk to a lawyer. Your mom can probably give you "Provisional Custody by Mandate".
