Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

I moved to Louisiana from Michigan about 2 and a half years ago to live with my children's father. Both of my children were born here in Louisiana. My children's father and I are having issues and I would like to move back to Michigan because I have no help and no where to go down in Louisiana. If I move back to Michigan I know my children will have a more stable living environment. My question is, is there any legal reprecutions their father can take against me if I do move if we are not married? I would like to do everything by the book and I do not want to break any laws.

You can move but I suspect he may file for custody in LA even though you and the kids are not there, since they have lived their entire lives in Louisiana and know no other place.
