Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

Multiple State Child Custody Question

Is it possible to get a temporary emergency change of custody in the state of Louisiana? Custody of child was given to grandparents. Per verbal agreement, custody was only temporary change. Now grandparents refuse to return child, and the child's permanent residence was moved from CT to LA without parents' consent. Mother wants child back in CT, but grandparents will not return. Can mother request temporary custody while child is visiting in CT?

If the court never entered a judgment in the custody issue, the court does not have jurisdiction. You remain the legal guardian. You do not need the grandparents permission to have your child unless the court transferred custody to them.
