Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

My neice had a baby out of mariage 2-1/2 years ago and put the fathers name on the birth cert., he does not support the child in any way shape or form. How would she go about having his name taken off of the birth certificate and the baby take her last name?

Unfortunately there is no way to take the father off the birth certificate except with another father. The court is not going to bastardize the child by eliminating the father and leave them fatherless. Go to the local Support Enforcement office and go after him for support. It costs you nothing and may get your niece's child the support she deserves.
