Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana
Non-Domicillary parent rights
I pay child support however, my son who is alomst 18 years old chooses not to visit and his mother does not let me know anything about his education, etc. She has been known to lie about his grades and education. I believe he has quit school and received a GED. Do I have the right as his parent to call and find this information out? Where would I call?

Re: Non-Domicillary parent rights
Any parent with joint custody (even the non-domiciliary parent) has the right to the child's school records. Contact the school authorities (probably the parish school board) and request his enrollment records and transcripts.
If he is out of school your child support obligation ends on his 18th birthday.
