Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

Nuptual agreement? Would that work?

My husband has an obligation to pay child support. His ex-girlfriend constantly threatens us that '' we're gonna be sorry''. ( ???) She already took him to court for a modification.

And I am about to start my own business, and would like to know if there is any way I could protect my assets/income from becoming a part of the child support payment source. Can they consider my income at all? If yes, what about her boyfriend's ( who lives w/her)income? Please advise.

Re: Nuptual agreement? Would that work?

Normally a spouse's income is not relevant to the other spouse's child support obligations. There are exceptions to discuss with an attorney.

If needed you might be able to reach a property separation agreement.
